Major Announcement
The Wisconsin State Fair (WSF) just announced the WSPA is an approved youth
organization for the 2012 and 2013 state fairs.

For our youth members this means that you can exhibit at the WSF as a member of the WSPA
just as you would as a member of a 4-H club or FFA Chapter (adhering to the WSF ages and rules).

To exhibit under the WSPA you must be a paid member by February 28.

Members who sign up after this date would not be eligible to exhibit under the WSPA at the WSF,
but would be eligible to collect points on the summer show circuit and utilize all member benefits.

Youth members must also be members in good standing, which includes attending at least
3 educational events offered by the WSPA.

The Wisconsin State Fair classifies the following as educational experiences:

  • Fitting Clinics
  • Judging Workshops / Contests
  • Attend Breed / Livestock Sales
  • Speaking Contests
  • Project Meetings
  • Skillathon Workshops
  • Quiz Bowls
  • Recreation/Social activities (roller-skating, bowling, etc.) may only be counted as an educational activity once.
  • Organizational meetings (monthly meetings, committee meetings, conventions, conferences) may only be counted as an educational activity once.
  • Exhibiting at Livestock shows may only be counted as an educational activity once.

If exhibiting under the WSPA, members must complete the member authroization form and have it signed by our designated adult advisor/contact when submitting their state fair entries.

The WSPA is excited to provide this as a member benefit to our youth members.

If you have questions, please contact the WSPA at wisconsinshowpigassociation@gmail.com.
